This should be fun. Looks like the Tinker guy teamed up with the slot car show and doing a race and auction weekend. This will probably lure Eric in ha ha.

Was just looking a few pages above and started laughing into tears again about that guy looking for the same body as Ken at the last show. Unreal...

You could build a Super Stock and or a Spec Racer. Those classes have armature races. If you come you will be my guest, if you just want to run laps we make it happen.

Well it's almost that time again, Ohio slot car show and race weekend! Some of the people that attended have some laid out display boxes and carrying cases, ext. I decided to fix me up an interesting hobo box. At the first glance it sure looks... ... looks like something... ...Anyway let's have a look inside, it's what's on the inside that counts. and it gets longer. looking good. Let's get that cover board off and have a look.

Take the cover board off and there's an attachment pole inside. attached the attachment pole and we have a bulletin board. .open up the other side and what's this? A portable dragstrip designed for an 8' long table??? Get out of here... It has its own built-in working tree. With red light for those early line jumpers and lane finish lights... let's grab a chassis and check it out.

Track is laid out. The finish line sensors are the shut down. The rails are separate from the power rail ,sounds good to me. This also makes it easy to extend the finish line if your buddy has an extra table or something lol. The wires coming from the shut down rails are run back and attached by a speaker wire terminal for easy removal. Tree and sensors are ran off 3 Aa batteries. Next is the track power. Good old screw gun battery doing the job. Now we have us a dragstrip for some 8' racing. Timed/powered area is 33 and a half inches. The shut down is 4' long with a 6 inch catch box. Nothing special in the catch box just a shopping bag.

Chassis on the track. Press little red start button. Light comes down. Hit the mini toggle switch. light is green Chassis is gone ,win light. Lined up again...light drops... Chassis jumps the gun and catches the red light.

Sam,
That is pretty wild! Makes me want to drive up to Ohio just to see it. Unfortunately, we'll be camping with the grandsons then.
Is the Ryobi 18v battery your power source?
That should attract some interest! You could offer to let folks try out their new show purchases.

Bill, I too am tempted to take the 6+ hour drive too. Sam, that is trick as all get out. are you planning on putting any links on the bulletin board? that might get you invited to other social gatherings... birthdays, bar mitzvas, bris', weddings, anniversaries, promotions, ......
have fun at the show, tell Andie (purple hair last time) I said HI!

Ryobi Is doing the track power. The sensors and lights are 3 aa batteries.
I'm going to advertise nitro slots on the bulletin board. I got a couple angry Jeff and Gts humgrin labels for their body's I'm going to put on it to.
