That is my favorite Vette of all. Great work so far! I'm diggin' the flares and the front spoiler. I did a tutorial on building, molding, and casting awhile back....or at least how I do it. I've had a lot of good tips from fellow casters here on the forum. I documented a '94 Beretta Pro Mod/Street project from the Frankenstein phase through the mold making phase to the final casting phase if you're interested. I've put the link below. Project goes from about page 63 to 68 on the Bear Creek Dragway thread. Thanks for sharing and posting your stuff Dave! nitroslots.com/thread/2917/bear-creek-dragway-north-texas?page=63

Been wanting to take another stab at casting and was thinking I’d like to take a look at your tutorial. It’ll be soooo much easier to find now.

Jeff, thanks for posting a direct link to that section. I think I'll just purchase cast bodies from people who are good at it, lol. That looks like a whole new hobby all by itself.

It is definitely another leap deeper into the hobby. I started because I wanted some stuff that nobody was making. There is so much embedded information here on the forum if a person is willing to go searching for it.

I'll probably get into it later, but right now I'm working on making these tiny toy cars fast. One of my daughters just bought a 3D printer, so I'm messing with that some now.

Things have been a little slow on the "beautification" side of the bench. I added a driver head to my dune buggy. Mars Rover? I picked up a set of wheels for the 'Vette project. The rears are about where I want them, the fronts need to be brought in some. I also experimented with some Wicked Pearl Black paint. I'm loving that color.

Been wondering how it would look, applied on a body.

I agree....I'm liking the black pearl too. Lots of metallic. Always love an older Vette and the dune buggy is just out of this world........ . Couldn't help myself sorry.

Nice one Dave!
I'm claiming your wheelie bar as my cancer fighting gremlin. My next CT-scan is in July. May you always win your race, brother!

And may your scans always be clear! My bride just had her annual scan last month. All clear. 10 years out for the melanoma, 5 years out for the lung.

That is the most inspiring thing I've seen in a long time. Nice work, Dave! That is a winner no matter what ET it pulls.

I picked up this plastic body die-cast at a flea market a few weeks ago. Perfect for a long wheelbase 4gear, or possibly a DR1. Not sure yet. I did have to shave the rockers down a bit for clearance. Inner structure was perfect for the front pin, and the rear inner had plenty of material to carve out for the rear cradle. Should be pretty cool. 2nd Pic does have rear wheels & tires in place, front is sitting on the skis. More on this one after I decide on a chassis. Attachments:

Well, it seems that tapatalk has a mind of its own when it places the pics I upload. 2nd Pic shown was the first selected for upload. Hmmm... gonna have to quit referring to 1st, 2nd, etc.

A little side show as we prepare to celebrate the birth of a nation... A little small town cruise-in, with fireworks later this evening. Flag flying high. The white 52 Chevy has a full Buick Grand National drive train in it. Owner says it'll scoot down the road pretty good. The Chevelle has some pretty killer flames and a big block under the hood. Sounds pretty stout. More in next post...
