Be sure to watch tomorrow night as the last pass time will be posted and the winner of the pass time build up Studebaker will be announced. Can Randtek hold on to his 2 point lead over Ragu and Allstar? Will Nightrider or Rapid Richard pull off a upset? Check back tomorrow night around 9pm EST for results. This weeks pass time prize for the closest E/T guess will be this cool pit box decal. Updated points 09/02/08

Sam, may I suggest one final tuning tip....paint the body red.
Everyone knows that red cars are faster, just ask any Highway Patrol. ;D

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh! You just gave away the biggest speed secret known to man! The brighter the Red the faster the car will go. Looking at your Hemi Hurricane in the B/G picture, I guesstimate that it would run a .37 @ 48 mph on our track with a stock tjet chassis. Minus the red, we're probably looking at a 2.37 @ 2mph .

New pass time is .4968 @ 29.75 mph. That lowers our E/T by .0503 and is a 3.22 mph increase. When I was adding the shunts on the pick up shoes I noticed that the front brush tension arm wasn't making good contact against the pick up shoe hanger so I soldered them together along with adding shunts.
The silver brushes along with the shunts were probably the biggest improvement this week. I could tell last week that this car would get in the .4's just by the way it ran. Great set of magnets with a good arm.
To compare with similar set ups. Jet's Nova ran a .4898 @ 30.17 mph at the Gasser Nationals earlier this year. Official NTRA Gasser record at PSD.
Local racer Chuck holds the record here in our Psychojet class (same chassis set up) with a .4514 @ 33.26 mph
Not bad for a car that'll cost you less than $30 to build. Of course having a track or a dyno is the way to go by tuning them.
Tonights winner is Demon
Here is how much you guys were off by: 1. Demon .0007 2. HOChal. .0032 3. Randtek .0049 4. Nightrider .0078 5. 440GTX .0082 6. Allstar .0085 7. Richard .0113 8. Ragu .0189

Hey SAM this contest was a blast I had alot fun. I have to agree with Tom here. This was a great contest, that also provided a good education in TJet modification. Being a relative newcomer to this "sport", I really got a lot of useful information while watching this contest progress. I can't wait to see the car up close, so I can examine the mods done. Since I now have a spare chassis, I may add a third entry for Fall Nats. Not sure about that yet though. I need to do some work on my other chassis. Thanks for running this contest Sam. I hope you do a similar contest in the near future. This has been a great excitement builder for Fall Nats. Maybe the next contest will have even more participants.

I thought it would be interesting to summarize the contest to compare the improvements at each stage. Here is the data I came up with: Setup Changes | Time | MPH | % Increase | Total % Increase
