Actually, the DS rules state a 5 ohm minimum. BUT...you won't find a 'factory' arm that low. Nosub is correct in that the lowest that you can find is 5.5. The lowest I personally have ever found is a 5.8. And, since we can't run rewound arms, that range is gonna be the lowest you'll find. An occasional 5.5, but more likely in the 5.8 or higher range. If you DO manage to find one in the 5.5 range..hold on to that puppy!! I've actually been trying to find one for 3 years or so! NOBODY wants to let go of them! Or, at least they won't let go for what I can afford to spend! ;D Ron (Bondo)

In the NFC class, most have just used new AW arms in the past. The better ones have come out of the newer Tjet chassis, release 7 and newer. A lot of the 'older' AW's are in the 15 range, with the 'newer' ones in the 14's. But, there are some earlier Aurora arms that will read at 14 ohms or just above it. I do have an AW arm that reads 14.6 matched on all 3. Kinda 'rare' so I'm considering it for an NFC, but I also have two Aurora arms that read pretty close to 14 even, so I'm actually trying to figure out which one to use..lol. As soon as I can find them, I'll describe them to ya. (or possibly take pics, but we shall see on that..lol) Ron (Bondo)

What arms are used in that class? www.slotmonsters.com/slot-car-thunderjet-500-pancake-motor-armatures.ashxThis site explains all the different type Aurora arms. The N/FC class allows the AW arm and the Aurora Magna traction arm. There are two type Aurora arms. Both have red tips. One has gold wire and the other has red wire. Both ohm around 14.8 or higher.

Hey Taz,
Something to put in your pipe ........... first NTRA race I got in was all 14ohm classes, 15 ohm'rs won both classes. Since have gone to 15 ohm tri-lams with better results since switching over. Magnets have a great deal to do with how a arm will perform. Stongest magnet is not allways best choice.

Hey nosub, that is a great site to explain the arms. Known about that one for a long time. Do have a question tho, do you or anybody else 'lose' that site after you're there for a short while? Use to be fine, but starting about a year ago, EVERYTIME I go to that site, it has probs. After viewing it for less than a minute, it gives me a page that says "There is a problem viewing this page". Thought maybe it was my firewall, but still does it even with that turned off. And I've tried it from 3 different computers too. Any idea why? Ron (Bondo)

My guess is that settings at the web server is causing it. I was able to make a quick glance chart of the info minus the paragraphed history and review.
