What wheels and tires do you guys use for your 4 gear N/FC? My hairy canary mustang is just about done being painted and the chassis is in the mail for it. I know the wheels and tires need to fit inside the body for it to sit right. I can either cut wheels down or go for something else.

Try removing the carbon contacts and using only springs use a small screwdriver to slip the springs over and stretch the springs and push the contactor in a small amount from under the chassis use silicone tires on rear a t jet rear axle trim inside of rear wheels and front wheels use o rings on front makes my four gear cars almost as fast as my top fuel dragsters that ive used mega chassis type cars in dragsters really makes the aw four gear cars fly

While those tricks DO make the cars faster, using only springs instead of brushes would make the car illegal for NTRA racing. Especially for the NFC class, which allows very few mods to the chassis. Keep that in mind guys when modifying the cars. Ron (Bondo)

No bearings no quads. Yes to mean greens. See class specific rules by clicking the NTRA 2012 RACE AND RULES SCHEDULE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. WELCOME kbuck

Taz: Everybody differs on wheel and tire choice. I use delrin wheels with slip on silicone's. The only stipulations are, no sili foams and not larger than .550, if I remember right.
Detonator: Those are all great ideas, and they do work, but Bondo is right. As of now brushes are required in all 4Gear classes.
Chevy: Welcome! Kbuck kinda got ya up to speed. As far as the track voltage/amp deal, they all vary. Most have aftermarket power supplies with adjustable out put.
Look around the site and enjoy! I've been here for a couple of years and I'm still picking up stuff from old posts and the other members. Don't be afraid to ask questions either, everybody is a rookie at one time or another!

Welcome Chevy. Glad to see another guy in the mishiana area that is here. Have fun look around alot of great info everywhere on the site and also alot of great guys to. The NTRA logo at the top of the page will have all the rules and also say a little about the tracks.
TGM2054. Thanks. Helps me out a little. So I could use some AFX magantraction wheels and which ever tire as long its night bigger then .550.

Hey Taz..be careful not to go too small either. If you do you will run into clearance problems between the track and chassis. I know..I've made that mistake...lol. You could always just use the stock wheels with slip ons and narrow the inside of the wheel by sanding. Just be careful using this method that you don't go too narrow and end up with the tires sitting on top of the rails of the track. Done THAT too...LOL! Ron (Bondo)

Anyone have hairy canary's 80s mustang body? I have mine all painted up and now trying to put it on an autoworld 4 gear chassis. I have the rear tires just fine to fit just right inside the body in the wheel wells. Im have a little trouble with the front now. I tried the front autoworld 4 gear tires and they hit the pick up shoes. So I put on xtraction o-ring front tires. The hit the body on the under side. Im not sure but I think the front screw post might be on the short side a little. Anyones help is welcomed and also hairy's is to.

Some day I want to recast that body a little wider. I will narrow some front wheels for you and send them with some O ring front tires. I will try to do them this weekend and get them in the mail on Monday. Rick
