Can not say. Did not join till 2011. Looked up race and saw Rick V. as top qualifier. That is our host for finals. Did not find any references as to voltage. That event held at Psycho Slots Dragway which used two 12V deep cycle batteries as power supply. Voltage was probably around 26+ volts with unlimited current available. Yes 2 12v batteries in series will give between 24 & 28 volts depending on state of charge and if a charger is there to keep the voltage up. Amps available will easily fry these little armatures if all is not right at those voltages. That would explain the times and MPH. There has been no announcement as to what voltage we will be running at in the current race. Someone stated 13.8V, is that correct?

I must say it is sad that my almost stock 40+ year old T jets are making the newer 4 gears with an armature of similar ohms look sick. The T jets have about 4 mph on the newer cars and about .02 hundredths in ET. The ET difference will be even more when I am finished with the T jets which I just started on.

Keep those arms for stock.&.super stock......... think Oscar the track cleaner would take a 4g......... lol.

If I am reading the rules correctly, stock class states 16 ohm or more. All four of the armatures were in the 15.7-15.9 range for all poles, well within the 14 minimum stated in the rules for NPS. I cannot understand why the 3 gears are so superior. One gear should not make that much difference. Some of the AFX 3 gears I have been working on can out MPH similarly modified 4 gears by 8 mph, which is like night and day, with everything being the same except the extra gear.

. . . . There has been no announcement as to what voltage we will be running at in the current race. Someone stated 13.8V, is that correct? Not that this will add any certainty to the question, but in the past NPS has run at 18V at Lions, and NFC at 13.8V.

VOLTAGE FOR NTRA FINALS -- Edited
Several racers have inquired about the track voltage for the upcoming NTRA Finals. Nostalgia Funny Car and Nostalgia Pro Stock will race at 13.8 VDC.
For reference, NPS last ran at Lions Drag Strip in July 2011. The No. 1 qualifier was 440GTX's Challenger at .841/16.43 mph. The Low ET of eliminations was .849/16.27 mph.
Here are the Top Qualifiers in NFC in previous years: 2011: Wood Vega, .974/11.60 2012: EagleRacing Camaro, 1.075/11.23 2013: Nosubfor3 Camaro, 1.077/11.88

Just noticed after re-reading the N/PS rules that flat bottom type spring brushes are illegal . The brush must be notched type, missed that one. My green charger had those type brushes in last race. The car ran poorly but if it hadn't could have been problem . So racers double check those rules. I am now tearing both my cars down and redoing them. No big deal they sucked anyway .

I missed that as well.....or at least read it wrong. I am using notched now anyway, but was going to try some flat brushes. Oh well I guess that's out the window. Thanks for posting.

BRUSHES, MOTOR:Any conventional brush which fits original mountings is acceptable After-market brushes may be used. Spring brushes may be not be used. Brush tubes are not permitted Read more: nitroslots.com/thread/3316/#ixzz3HR300TwUThis is the rules on brushes that I read so maybe someone can help me with the rules before I send in my cars.
