The first race of the 2015 season will include a combined NTRA PRO MOD/PRO STOCK race along with an OUTLAW T jet, AFX style 3 gear, and inline classes, where the only rule will be the car must be a full bodied American car. Any arm any magnets any chassis. Also included will be an anything runs BRACKET RACE. That race will run 3 qualifiers for each car. If there are enough cars this will be broken up into 3 classes, Street, Pro, and Super Pro. This is how brackets are run on full size tracks. Despite it being a bracket race the faster cars do have a slight advantage in reaction time and in full size racing you will see them let off when they catch the slower car. I will post the times and the entry can provide me with a desired time or I can put one in for them. In HO scale I have seen reaction times differ by several hundredth's between cars usually with the quicker cars off the line having the best reaction. As Racemaster I will only be competing in all 3 Outlaw classes. I will have several cars in each class there.

Are these pro stock rules the NTRA rules for rest of season going forward? As far as I know these are for Dave's race only. About the January Event Pro Stock/ Pro Mod or DoorslammerThe rules as listed by Dave would be specific to his track only. 2015 NTRA inline Doorslammer class rules (which include Pro Stock/ Pro Mod styled bodies) share the same chassis build. Both body styles are run together as a single competition under the class title Doorslammer. This has been the practice of NTRA when running 4G Doorslammer class and is to carry over to 2015 inline chassis builds when running as an NTRA sanctioned race. Click here to see 2015 NTRA Inline Doorslammer rules. Quite possibly a misunderstanding has occurred here. Or it is Dave's intent to run the classes as listed. If run as listed results will not be included in Pro Series, but instead only accumulate scoring in Outlaw category. Dave, contact me to make clear your intentions.Bracket RaceDave will be using a method not having been used by NTRA before. As the current method used by NTRA is not by any means perfect and experimentation to make improvements are welcome. This method will be new to us, however NTRA will recognize it as a sanctioned race and scoring accumulated and recorded among bracket race scores. Outlaw RacingThe Outlaw races described are just that, 'Outlaw' and will only accumulate scoring in the Outlaw category. Cordell - aka Ninjatek NTRA Race Coordinator

Cordell I am assuming the Bracket race will accumulate and apply points the same way as was done in 2014? I just want to clarify that. Thank you.

Are these pro stock rules the NTRA rules for rest of season going forward? These rules are for the Inline N2 class. There are differences in the inline N1 and N3 classes.

are there any body/body mount restrictions for either class thus far posted? I did not read any in the current rules and I certainly don't have any.

Here are the body rules for the inline doorslammer Pro Mod/Stock class: Resin, Plastic only. No Lexan bodies. Wings, hood scoops etc.. may be made out of styrene, balsa or Lexan. Full fender-ed Car or Trucks bodies with Roof (no Roadsters/Convertibles). No Funny Car bodies. Hood Ornaments: Must have at least a factory hood scoop. Injectors, Pro Style Hood Scoops, Turbos are encouraged but not necessary. Air Spoil: Must have at least a factory rear deck spoiler. Pro Stock Style, Pro Mod Style and detached wings are encouraged but not necessary to compete.
For the Outlaw class any closed body American car is OK and Lexan is included. Must be approximately 1/64 - 1/78 scale or within reason. Had a question about all wheel drive and I see no problem with that.
For the Bracket class you could run anything you like, even humorous ones.

One question on rules , then more cause I'm nosey.
Rules printed out say brushes must fit stock location...... what is this ment to exclude ? Another on rules ........ Is the 3.0 on the arms meant to include Wizard green/wire arms as in the past ?
Dave, saw you intend to run Outlaw inlines. Have a few unrestricted road cars figure on morphing one for this. What kind of arms are you running ? My car will probably have a 33g wire arm. I'll check it for ohms when I take it out of chassis. Anybody with any thoughts on tire hardness for this (I'm waiting for more on shut down) ? Never thought about one of these stopping before....... lol. ...... Peter
JUST LOOKED IT SAYS , BRUSHES MUST FIT IN STOCK MOUNTS...... is this in regards to altering timing ?

Those are the rules as printed on the NTRA site. I imagine that the stock location and stock mounts means that you cannot change the timing. If the Wizard is a factory wound arm, I imagine that is OK. I will check on that. Currently I have the BSRT 20.00 arm which comes with the G3, it has 2.5 ohm resistance. I do not know the wind as this chassis came with it. I have a #34 on order which is a 40.00 arm. Don't know what the ohms are on that but my guess would be under 2.0. I plan on moving my track to a dedicated room. It will increase my current shutdown from 3' to 7'. The race voltage will be kept down to 20V to help with stopping and I am working on stopping the cars more efficiently. Even with only 3' I am able to stop them effectively at 28 mph with only cushioning and foam at the very end. I don't know how fast we can get them running at 20 v but I am pretty sure they will be somewhere in the 30+ range. I have also ordered a 2nd power supply so I can run 2 of them which will give 10 amps to each lane. If anything needs more than that I will pick up the pieces and send what's left of the chassis back in a bag and I will wear a bomb suit while running them.

not to be rude or insensitive, .... but, the folks I have raced extreme OUTLAW builds with weren't upset when a car failed in the course of running. they became very distraught if their $180.00+ rocket sled was damaged in any way in the shutdown. even had one racer refuse to run his car on a track with 18 FEET of shut down because his car didn't stop in that distance. there were no down force adders in the shut down like steel and the car rolled along quite merrily at about 100 MPH. understanding that the cars on your set up will not come close to such high speeds and stopping them will probably be just fine. but to ".... pick up the pieces and send what's left of the chassis back in a bag ..." would not cut it with some folks. again, please do not get mad at me for pointing this out. I just want to prevent what I have witnessed and the resulting havoc that ensued. I am still working on that magic formula between mad fast and some thing competitive that will run consistent without my prepping it every run. thank you for hosting, I am looking forward to the race and results.

I completely agree with what Al is saying here. Racers car care is of the utmost importance to us here at the Texas tracks. But in the end, as long as the track details are known, it is up to the racer whether to run on the track or not. We have been discussing various shut down techniques lately and I plan on doing more with mine due to the shortness of it. With that being said......I have run several races and numerous testing sessions now at Bear Creek. The fastest classes have been NT/F and MM/PS in which the fastest cars run low .4's. I spend the necessary time after each run to set up the padding in an accordion type fashion with a foam block in the back. Only a couple of cars have made it to the foam block and I have never had anyone's car damaged in the catch box. I broke the body on one of my MM/PS cars only because I forgot to set up padding before the run....my fault. We have had only a couple of instances of cars contacting each other in the box with only minor damage. I have had a couple of cars damaged due to crashes that occurred on the track itself, but those were not due to track construction. I just wanted to add these comments to show that it is possible to have a shorter shut down that is not ideal and not have the cars damaged. But care has to be taken to set up the padding in such a way as to not allow that to happen. I do admit that I am probably at the max speed of what can be run at my track with the shutdown I have. FYI......
