Thanks to Alan for a well run event, and to Cordell for once more clarifying the rules. I actually don't have a DOG in this fight so to speak, as we don't run NTRA events in my club anymore. We in St Louis hosted I believe 4 of the first 6 or 7 NTRA events here. While it was enjoyable 1 event, the first we did had an issue. We ran the event with our local rules, and their was nothing in the early rules that made what we did illegal, but their was a protest from someone that felt he should have advanced as opposed to being putting his car on the trailer.
The point was pushed to the point that the "wronged party" demanded I ship the cars directly to his track for a race He would run properly. That was also not in the rules, cooler heads prevailed and although we ran 3 more events the DOG believes it is why I lost all support in running future events, and we race locally and don't host events.
I guess the DOG owes everyone a point....Hosting a race is a BIG JOB, and the guys that help don't deserve complaints, and criticism on an open forum, like I said the I don't have a Dog in this fight but I have seen questions asked last week about folks hosting races, and attendance or lack of. It seems to me that racers that have a complaint would be better served by contacting the race host or Cordell by PM that is if you enjoy the races and hope Race masters will continue to be motivated to host events. Just food for though, the Dog thinks that Proxy racing defiantly fills a void for guys that have no other option. It's your club hopefully cooler heads prevail once more.

I have also decided to not hold a race in August because of all the discord. I surely do not know all the rules and can surely miss something. By no means did anything I do improve the performance of the car. It was just annoying to me that someone who dislikes me wanted to get something on me and post it on the site for all to see. He was not even in the race. If it had been handled properly thru Alan or Cordell there would have been no problem.

I have been sitting on the sidelines and after 6 sessions of radiation I am almost cancer free but enough about me was thinking of coming back but all these cancelled races and bickering back and forth I have second thoughts and as far as rules they should be followed and enforced if it is not listed it is not legal plain and simple. tom has been my friend for 3 yrs. and helps me with my cars because of my handicap and is very knowledge so dave I think you were out of line and owe him an apology. on another subject I nwould like to see 20 racers with $20 dollar cars instead of 5 racers with $100 cars last time I looked we are trying to build ho racing up not tear it down going fast costs a lot of money and I cant chase trying to go fast. mac Mac glade to see you health going in a positive direction. When your ready to race again if there is anything I can help you with to get back to racing please let me know. Rick Double hello and welcome back. Mac, ditto what Rick said. Rick.Race on brother.

I want to thank all the race masters putting on these races. Listen, I am 72yrs old and like to be as competitive as most of us do. It sounds like some of my friends when they start talking politics. At my age I may not have a lot of time left to continue playing drag racing. Just want to put a little humor in my comment! Keep on racing.

Congrats to the dave632 winner of both races. Thanks for the support Dale. We are in a similar age bracket. I cannot run the full size ones anymore and this seemed like a lot of fun. Something me and my sons did in the past. I really would have had no problem with anybody else saying there was a problem. Except for one guy this site has been a blast. This is surely not the first time he has gone after me and others. Everybody else has been cool. Unfortunately it got my son mad too and he does not want any part of it now. We were having a good time going after each other too. We can still do some match racing here.

perception of personal assaults is sometimes blemished by one's own bias'.
perhaps a good cooling off period and then re-examination of the underlying issue(s) would make things less tense?
I become a little more disappointed with each race cancellation I read about.
I feel pretty confidant in saying that if a person doesn't care for a specific Race Master the likely hood of him entering races run by said Race Master are slim to none!

Alan,
Thank you for running the event. Sorry I didn't send a better entry for super pro, had no magnets and just went with it. Also sorry to see all the commotion, looking forward to next race.
Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,
Sorry I could not do better for you in getting the car down the track. I even went so far as to get the tires nice and dirty with some very fine ground dirt. Just would not stay in the groove. Hope to see you at Gasser Madness in May?
And perhaps a yet to be announced event later in the year!
Regards,
Alan

I have been getting some PMs encouraging me and my son to not stop racing or running events. I thank all those who feel that way. I will be at Alan's event next month, no doubt, don't know about my son as he is not happy. We will see what the future brings after that.

I have been getting a lot of PMs asking me not to stop running events, so I am reconsidering.

Thank you for a good race and all who entered! For myself and my dad we have been around or chat about going as fast as possible for as long as I can remember. The racing here is similar and a lot less expensive compared to real cars. As far as the the technical issues here maybe a little less would be better, there are only a few participants so we should preserve that rather than trying to nit pick every detail and cause the whole thing to fall apart. If there were hundreds competing then it might be different. Rules are rules but it's really about enjoying everyone's cars and camaraderie from my view point. I get a kick out of spending time with my dad and going fast whether in a real car or racing at home same difference. As far as racing we will be at the next event and hoping everyone else will be too. Again thank you for a great race!

68camaro, congratulations on your racing debut win and second. I aree that in sone instances, less is more. but we have to look at what we have right now and comply with that. my short term membership here has seen some fluidity, so there is always hope that everyone will be heard. I am certainly glad you haven't quit. "endeavor to persevere" a president once told a very old native American indian chief representing the nations. an, I say it to you.

Al, yep it was Lincoln who said that........... to the leaders of the Indian nations. So then they all went home......... and declared war on the U.S. Still, a great saying...... one of my favourites. ........ Peter
