A little bit of progress on my new "Nashty" car. The cutting went well and glued back together fine. Hopin' it turns out.
Thinkin' I'll make a second one with fins and a foil, when this one's done .

A long time ago me and a buddy contemplated putting a SB Chevy into a Nash Metro. We actually tried to buy one as it was cheap back then but it had been sold so we never did it but it was a thought, probably a bad thought at that as they were short Wheelbase and pretty narrow cars.

Somebody borrowed your idea . . . . but I borrowed their car name

Yeah, 331 cu in which I believe is a 327 .030 over. Nashty is a good name for it.

Awesome Gale!! That car is going to be SICK!! I can hardly wait to see the finished product.! Check this one out. Hairy Canary built this masterpiece for one of my races awhile back. It is called the Nash Competition Coupe . Let this one be motivation for all of us builders.

Thanks Jeff! I remember the flat black paint but did not remember the body being a Nash . Thanks for posting the pic ! Didn't he win "Best In Show" with that one?

That was the 2018 Texas Nationals. The Nash CC was one of the 5 contenders for Best in Show, but Hilltop won with his Topolino Altered. I really like the Altered's and the FED'S.

Gale I see your hooked like the rest of us😁 Your castings look awesome for your first ones. Ditto on what all the other guys said. And Jeff’s how to on casting was really good and helpful. Only thing that I do along with stripping the paint and priming and body work to the diecast before molding is strip the chrome. Some of the chrome parts are so heavily plated it takes the detail away. I use easy off oven cleaner works really good. That Nash is on my list of body’s I want to do. Think it would make a wild Gasser and maybe a Pro Mod. Can’t wait to see yours.

I agree the castings look awesome. The little Nash as a real car was also made and sold in England, over here it was called the Austin Metropolitan.

Sanding the paint and tampos off of diecast cars can be pretty tedious. There’s a bead blast cabinet in my garage that doesn't get much use lately. It makes quick work of the job and is very thorough. Plus it leaves a nice smooth surface. If you are interested, I would be happy to bead blast your diecast bodies, free of charge. That offer goes for all of you Nitro Slot resin casters.

Gettin' a little closer . The front 4G mount is setting up/glue drying. The rear 4G mount still needs to be fabricated and attached to the glass so the mount & glass can be cast as one unit. Hope that works out . . . it should. Body needs a final sanding, got a little heavy with the primer . Way far from pristine but I'm learning.
