KIWI CHALLENGE #5
This will go down at
Bear Creek Dragway Euless, Texas
on
March 25 - 28
Classes to be run:
**Pancake Comp Tjet - Gasser body @ 18v (Second Race of the 2 race Gasser Series)
**Pancake Super Comp 3 gear - Musclecar body (early or late model) @ 24v
**Kiwi Challenge 4gear Stock - Drag style or Street body @18v (no lexan)(7 - 9 New Zealand racers have Challenged the NTRA)
**4 gear Unlimited Match Racing @ 26v (plastic or resin body - no lexan)
**PRO STREET OUTLAW AND FOUR GEAR OUTLAW WILL ALSO RUN AT THIS EVENT**
This race definitely has the potential to be epic! Bear Creek Dragway will be hosting the 5th Kiwi Challenge which has proven to be highly competitive and exciting in past meetings. There is more information and nostalgia about that below. We will also be running the 2nd and last race of the Gasser Series that was started at Gale's Good Times Speedway. The points are being tallied and will be posted with the Sign Up info. Dave632 has once again proven to be the racer to beat. Everybody has a chance to tune now that we all have a number to shoot for. Both of his cars are rocketships. 3 gear Super Comp is a Class that I cannot ever remember running here on Nitroslots. It is basically the same build as Comp but with Poly motor magnets. They will be run at 24v to give the stronger magnets the power they need to work. I am looking forward to seeing those cars make some passes. Last is 4 gear Unlimited. I saw some interest at the 2020 Texas Nationals and it already looks like that is continuing. That Class is a favorite because of the innovation and tuning it takes to make that chassis go fast. I am excited about this race and have dedicated 4 days to the event. There is still plenty of time for everyone to get their cars ready and shipped to North Texas! It's going to be fun so don't miss out! See more details below:
- Cars need to be here by Thursday March 25. Qualifying starts first thing that morning. Mail early!

Kiwi Challenge #5
Here is some information and history regarding the Kiwi Challenge. It is run like a Match race best of three format. Cars will be randomly matched up. Check out the past races below.
KC #1 was run at the 2014 Labor Day Nationals event, consisted of (8) cars total, and ended in a tie. Here is the link to check that one out nitroslots.com/thread/3589/2014-labor-day-nationals-saturday?page=2 Scroll down the page.
KC #2 was run at the 2016 Bear Creek Dragway Pro Street Outlaw #3 event, consisted of (12) cars total, and ended with New Zealand taking the Team Win! Here is the link for that one nitroslots.com/thread/4143/creek-dragway-street-outlaw-saturday Scroll down the page.
KC #3 was run at the 2017 Bear Creek Ultimate Team Challenge, consisted of (17) cars total (1 NZ car did double duty), and once again ended with New Zealand taking the Team Win! Here is the link nitroslots.com/thread/4302/creek-dragway-ultimate-challenge-saturday Scroll down the page.
KC #4 was run at the 2019 NTRA Winter Nationals, consisted of (18) cars total, and yet once again ended with New Zealand taking the Team Win! Here is the link nitroslots.com/thread/4625/2019-winter-nationals-creek-dragway?page=5 Scroll down the page.
OK.......I'm going to start by saying the New Zealand racers always come to race! They have won every Challenge except the first one and that was a tie. Nitroslots is due for a win but the cars are going to need to be fast. At the last Challenge #4 Hairy Canary customized a beautiful trophy to be passed back and forth to the winners. It has been in New Zealand ever since. Each race has outdone the last in excitement and performance. They could not have been scripted any better. Will this one be as good? That remains to be seen. All I know is Nitroslots needs a win. I will do normal Qualifying with the Nitroslots cars of 1 run in each lane and the top cars will be randomly matched up to go against whatever New Zealand sends. There should be a minimum of 7 but could be more. Thank you to everyone for entering! Thanks also to all the New Zealand racers past and present that send their cars! You guys and gals rock!
