I don't want to leave the blue oval guys out completely. There are some nice Fords here too. I think the 68 Shelby is all original. I'll have to talk to the owner again, but I think it is a survivor. Edit to add: The Shelby is in fact an original survivor. The only mods are the wheels, and the 84 year old owner had power steering added several years ago so she could continue driving it, 4 speed manual and all. She used to race a Boss 302 car in SCCA events.

My "Dangerous Lady" build begins... Tip o' the hat to Adam/Pennywise on the casting. A very nice '55 Chevy sedan. I spent about 10 minutes with a small file hitting what little flashing there was. The pieces fit well, so this should turn out nice. A little more clean up and annoverall scuffing and it should be ready for a primer coat. Dangerous Lady was a B29 bomber that was stationed for a time on Tinian Island during WWII while my grandfather was there as a Seabee. I have a couple of other WWII themed builds in mind as well.

"Dangerous lady.= "Interesting WW2 story. My father was in the US Navy in WW2. His ship the USS Evans was hit by a kamikaze attack. He was wounded and had go overboard. Fortunately, he was rescued.

Very cool! I definitely like the nostalgia behind the build. If you would, keep us updated throughout the build. I always like to see the progression and how others do their craft . Thanks for posting!

I do have a couple more WWII themed builds in mind. Every bomber needs a fighter escort or two, so there will be a couple of them as well. I received an AJR '70 Mustang as a 'door prize' from the last race I entered. Thanks, Jeff! The obvious choice is a P-51 Mustang, and I'll be taking it one step further by doing a Tuskeegee Airman themed P-51. I also plan on another escort for the Lady. I have a Hairy Canary 3D printed '65 Nova that may fit the bill, but I may look for an Anglia instead. An Anglia would be more fitting for a British Spitfire escort. Multinational escorts for the Lady. More details on them once I remember where I filed away the research. I have specific pilots in mind for both aircraft. Speaking of pilots, I think the pilot of Dangerous Lady was named Ed Cox. Hard to read in the photo, but I think that's what I'm reading when I enlarge the original scan.

Fin, I just realized something about your post... The 28th is your daughter's birthday, and it's my anniversary. My bride has been putting up with me for 31 years on the 28th, longer if you count the years before we got married. Small world, and cool story about the truck. I love that body style.

Good to remember the "Greatest Generation". There were a lot of sacrifices made then and they surely deserve to be remembered. Coz, sympathy for your better half, I have one of those too.

Cozwurth/Dave Thanks for encouraging me to Post My Tyco Brass Pan "🤪 Pipe Dream" Stated in 2019 When the other Dave was hosting a Unlimited Event 🤔,Still a Newbe Like Crazynski/Ken would Say🤔 I thought, is it possible for an Old Now Relized and Call a "Relic sent to the JunkYard" To complete with the Inline Super cars of the 21st Centery , Not a chance 😁 Frist Attempt 2022, With this Harden Creeks balanced motor, Terry Flynn used to tell me i was wasting my time, said the chassis were to old and Brittle Terry always has been Frank and Truthful 😁. With a set BSRT motor magnets Ellie did around 24mph. So I thought to build another Harden Creeks low ohm motor 🤔 Maybe it could be possible. "Note: The Error in mount screws that hold motor, chassis, and body together, I never thought to put brass plates on chassis above the mounting screws. It was at Smoky Mountain Dragway early spring When the 20 Volts of Juice was put to #4 Dolly-Ellie She came all Undone as the motor pulled through the chassis 😁Should have had that on Video 📹 Part 2 to follow with Pichup Shoe And Chassis Modification. And Then the final Test at Smoky Mountain Dragways Event November 2024 22nd -24th Tyco Event Build them Tuff RaceMates I have Two 21st Centery Backup's I'm wishing for some very "Strong Competition" Fin
