Heck, I agreed with Sam's idea too. But I don't want him to get a fat head thinking EVERYBODY votes his way. Love you too Phil I was going to ask you if you have been feeling ok..... I see you bought a AW Dragstrip with Pro Stocks!!!! I can only imagine you and Rick setting that track up and lying on the floor running them down the track the next time he visits. We do want a full report. J/K Happy Holidays Buddy!

Has anyone measured the out side diameter of the four gear crown gear? If so what is it? If not can someone do so and let us all know. Wizzard has 20 tooth at .380 OD.

Haven't measured it with any kind of 'accurate device' yet, but I can guarantee that 20t IS larger. I have a stock 15t and a Super2 19t and the 19 is noticably larger. I'll get out my caliper and see what it shows for both gears. (that is if the battery in it hasn't 'expired' yet...lol). Ron (Bondo) Lonestar Racing and Resins

Nosub, in answer to your measurement question: On an original 15t crown gear (Aurora) the outside dimension is .274,.275. On an original Super2 (Aurora) 19T crown gear: .329, or .330. I used two measurements because there are some 'burrs' on the outside of these gears, like I said they're new . So, the .380 is definitely quite a bit larger. I don't have an AW 4 gear taken apart at the moment to measure it, not too sure if it's not a different tooth anyway, since the new 4 gears armatures are a different ohm rating than the older ones were, which may mean they are geared completely different. Will need to check on that. Ron (Bondo) Lonestar Racing and Resins

Thanks Ron. The AW gear looks to be the same as the standard AFX. I had a few disected chassis laying around. I still don't understand changing the crown gear thing. I tried to put an AW and a AFX in the four gear but it is to tall and the gear plate will not sit flat.

If your using an original 4gear plate the opening that the crown fits through is smaller in corners, Kind of a D shape,if you take an exacto and make it a rectangle your crown gear should fit through.

We got a brand new built HO Drag track up in MT HOLLY NJ........ we will be running the 4gears..........
I think out of the box is good for the prostock cars .. tuning blancing
the funny cars you should allow arm mods , shunts , braids
just my .2 cents
I'm a 1/24th scale racer...
there is a good 1/24th 1/4 mile track there too
